Why are we living like this?

Most of us go to work 8 hours a day, and from the beginning of the week we start looking towards the weekend.  On the weekend we relax enjoy ourselves and go back to work on Monday.  We get financially better and we start looking to establish ourselves, we buy a car, a house and all the material things that we think it’s going to make us happy, or we just do it because everyone else is doing the same.  We all want to be different, yet we are all the same.  We buy or do things to differentiate us from others, and we probably do them because we’ve seen others doing them.  We think these “things” will make us happy or make us better, is it really?  Is it how we’re supposed to live?

“There are thousands and thousands of people out there, leading lives of quiet screaming desperation where they work long hard hours at jobs they hate, to enable them buy things they don’t need to impress people they don’t like” – Nigel Marsh.
